When you arrive at the falconry centre you will be welcomed by a member of the team. Then you will be guided through the amazing falconry, meeting some of the 40 birds of prey that are homed there.
Then it’s time for tea, coffee and a chat. You will hear the basics of falconry, learn a little more about birds of prey and get an explanation of what to expect from the experience.
After that it’s time to meet the birds of prey close up. If possible, you’ll be able to stroke them as well! An expert falconer will take you through the process of casting a bird from the fist, feeling their wings lightly brush your face as they take off!
Your falconer will talk you through their flight and then prepare you to receive the bird back on your fist.
This is a truly breathtaking experience, getting up close and personal with these magnificent birds of prey. It’s ideally suited for a variety of ages and people with disabilities.
